Controls:
Controls can be set in the game.
When aiming with the mouse (or with independent keyboard aiming), Double-tapping a directional button will make you go twice as fast in that direction. This uses a small amount of force-field energy.
Otherwise, Double-tapping forward will make you go forward twice as fast, etc. You can apply this to rotating as well. I.E. if you double-tap left, you can turn left twice as fast. Fast turning does not use force-field energy.

How to play:
Enemies are randomly appearing. Don't touch them. At first they are slow, but as you kill them, they become faster, and as time goes on, they start with more health. Eventually, they'll start being able to shoot you. Enemies of a given colour are resistant to that colour of weapon, but if you kill enough of them that way, you will gain a Disruptor Burst, which you can use to deal major damage to all enemies in a large area around you. The more enemies are in range, the more damage it does! Additionally, your weapons will upgrade as you destroy enemies. Their weapons upgrade over time, since if they destroyed you, the game would be over.
You'll probably see little pulsing white objects, in the shape of either an x or a dot, at some point. Those are force-field and health powerups, respectively, and you collect them by touching them.

Weapons:
There are 7 primary weapons that you can use (the Disruptor Burst is a secondary weapon).

1: Shield(white) - protects your front. As it upgrades, it can sustain more hits, and widens.

2: Machine Gun(red) - Has a slight spray, and can fire very rapidly. Range increases with use.

3: Virus(orange) - When it hits an enemy, it will kill it after a delay if something else doesn't kill it first, splitting into more viruses. Not very potent until enemies have a fair bit of health, but it's a guaranteed kill.

4: Reticle Claw(yellow) - Moves toward a point in front of you, giving you a limited ability to guide shots. Shoots 2 shots at once, both diagonally backward. You can generally only hit things that are a certain distance from you, but the tradeoff is that you can end up almost surrounded by bullets. Upgrades increase lifespan of the shots.

5: Sniper(green) - Travels up to any distance instantaneously, eventually can plow through as many enemies as you can put in front of it.

6: Bombs(blue) - If you don't hit anything, they detonate after a while, but until then they linger in place and can be used as mines. Upgrades increase range and explosive power.

7: Shockwave(purple) - Blows up everything nearby. Does more damage with upgrades, and range increases. Also, more stages are added to its effect.

Upgrading:
There are 2 bars for each weapon: a thick one and a thin one.
The thin one represents the number of shots that can be effected at one time (or a similar attribute), and goes up when you hit an enemy.
The thick one is how upgraded the weapon is, and increases when you destroy an enemy.
When the big bar gets to one of the horizontal indicators, the weapon upgrades.
Different weapons upgrade differently. For example, the orange gun is the only one with a small bar that always increases more slowly then the other bar, and the Purple gun's shots are the least affected when they hit an enemy. Also, guns upgrade at different stages and have different points at which they max out.

Tractor Beam:
Hold the button (shift by default) and it will activate.
When you try to grab something with the beam, one of 3 main things will happen. Grabbing a given type of object, (such as, say, a red enemy), will always have the same result.
1. Most commonly, you will grab it successfully and be able to carry it, or swing it around, or manipulate it in some way.
2. Second most commonly, nothing will happen because whatever you are trying to grab can't be grabbed. Usually this is because it is a wall.
3. Least common is that you will grab the object, but it will be manipulating YOU. This generally only happens with things that are much more powerful than you.
If you successfully grab something, the beam will turn one of 2 colours:
Reddish means that what you picked up is dangerous. You might want to throw it.
Purplish means that it is not dangerous. You can touch it quite safely.

Scoring:
Your score is equal to the amount of seconds you've survived, plus points for enemies you've killed, plus bonuses for any fully upgraded weapons.
Killing an enemy is worth more points the sooner you do it after they appear. Killing an enemy with a Disruptor Burst provides double points!
Each fully upgraded weapon gives a larger bonus than the last.

Getting damaged:
Touching enemies or their shots damages you. You start out being able to sustain 18 hits.
The longer you spend touching something, the more health you lose.
Getting hit will knock you back, sometimes into more things that will hurt you. So try not to get surrounded.
Much like enemies resist their own coloured weapon, you are resistant to the colour of the weapon you are using.

Tips:
Most people who don't do well aren't doing these enough.

1. RUN AWAY! Try not to get too close to enemies, since touching them hurts you and that's what makes you lose. It hurts them, too, but it's still not a good strategy.

2. You get loads of points for fully ugrading weapons, so do it with as many as you can.

3. Don't be discouraged by a weapon that seems to be bad. The worse it starts out, the better it ends up when you get it fully upgraded.

4. Use the Force-field. It's there for a reason! It makes you move a little slower, though.

5. If you have a weapon selected, you are less vulnerable to its colour of enemy. Use this to avoid taking more damage than you need to.

Secrets:
There are cheats, but I won't tell you here how to activate them, or what they do.
There are also 3 secret weapons.
There's a console, too, which you can use to do things like kill everything or give yourself crazy amounts of health. Or whatever.
